Update on Village negotiations | Canadian Union of Public Employees

Update on Village negotiations Canadian Union of Public EmployeesCUPE 458 and the Village of Harrison Hot Springs have agreed to resume negotiations, however the Village is too busy to bargain until next Wednesday or Thursday so strike action will likely continue for the next 8 to 9 days.

“We know that the Harrison Festival of the Arts is an important community event and we don’t want to see it further disrupted,” says CUPE 458 Acting President Darlene Worthylake. “We have agreed to resume negotiations next week, however we have also told the Village that we think it is in the best interest of residents, businesses and visitors to get back to the bargaining table as soon as possible. If the Village is willing to resume negotiations immediately the union will also immediately stop all job action related to the Arts Festival so it can continue uninterrupted. We want the community to know that CUPE 458 is committed to doing everything we can to resolve this dispute in a timely manner.”
