A protest rally against increased repression of labour and social activists in Iran
In recent days, the Islamic Republic of Iran has intensified its pressures and repression of labour and social activists in Iran. A number of labour activists in Iran have recently been arrested and incarcerated including Ebrahim Madadi, Pedram Nasrolahi, Bijan Amiri, Mohsen Hakimi Saleh Bahrami and a number of education workers and teachers. Mahmoud Salehi and Bakhtiar Rahimi have been summoned to court for unjustifiable reasons and Mansour Osanloo, Farzad Kamangat and Afshin Shams continue to be imprisoned. Heavy charges have been laid against student activists in Iran.
We, along with other progressive and labour forces, will participate in a rally on Saturday, January 3, 2009 outside the BBC Persian Section in London. Please join us and add your voice to the protests!
